Cafe Racer - OW70 Replica

I have always enjoyed building and riding cafe racers. This one is inspired by the classic duel between Kenny Roberts and Freddie Spencer for the 1983 world 500cc championship. This bike is build on a RZV chassis with the RD500 engine. The suspension is upgraded with catridge forks and a fully adjustible shock. The wheels are lightweight aluminum. The most important features are the two handmade aluminum tanks: the oil injection under and sticks up through the gasoline tank. The bodywork is OW70 with the livery that Roberts ran in Europe from 1980 until early 1983. Overall during the transformation the bike gained 30 horsepower, lost 80 pounds of weight and acquired modern suspension. It is great fun to ride.
